Prachin Buri is a province in central Thailand, east of Bangkok. The rural temple Wat Ton Pho Si Maha Pho is home to the province's symbol, a giant Bodhi tree believed to be more than 2,000 years old.
Turning wounds into wisdom. Antique is a perfect name as the scent brings this aged aura, experienced. It opens with a wet soil, fungal, decaying woods type of smell that is slightly medicinal and menthol-like, with a mild raw leather, musk, and spices overtone.
The scent gets drier with those nuances drying and fading. A mineral quality starts to appear and it becomes salty and woody with a hint of smoke and spices, reminiscent of ambergris. There’s almost a blueberry note floating around and it sits right where the top and heart meet. Slowly, they fade into the background and a musky, furry, woody resinous scent takes centre stage.
Don’t be surprised if you wear this and get different nuances at different times. A very complex and fascinating scent. Prachin reminds me much of the oud notes in Cashmere Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian for those who are familiar with it. A popular favourite of some of our customers. The projection with this one is big.
